ABOUT THINK BLUE

Think Blue was born out of my desire to help young Americans navigate their way through the somewhat intimidating world of American politics. Hopefully, Think Blue will energize a new generation of Americans so that they can play a part in controlling their own destiny by helping to shape the future of this country.

The number of socially conscious people I've encountered who are passionate about social issues but not active in American politics has always amazed me. I started asking people why they weren't involved with politics and found out that most young Americans find the process to be completely overwhelming. People expressed the desire to make an impact in politics but they don't understand how to get involved and make a difference. It is too difficult to navigate through so many races for so many different offices by so many candidates and it is impossible to tell which candidates were genuine and which ones were running because they actually care about the issues and aren't just looking for power.

This organization was founded to address these issues and make it easier for like-minded young Americans to engage in the Democratic process. Think Blue takes the intimidation factor out of Democratic politics. The organization is charged with researching the young Democratic candidates and identifying the ones with whom our members can best relate and support. Think Blue hosts candidates at intimate gatherings that allow personal interaction. This forum for discussion gives the members the opportunity to discover for themselves that many of the individuals running our country are actually very similar to many of us and that they have nothing to fear about the process.

My goal is to energize young people to become invested in politics in the same way that they are invested in various other socially conscious organizations. Most organizations support an issue or a candidate - Think Blue supports the young American voter.
